Qualifications and courses for aspiring PR professionals
Qualifications are so important to develop the required skills and knowledge about the Public Relations (PR) industry. Although, prior to my PR role, I was far from aware of the options available in the industry! Having now achieved a PR qualification (a Distinction in the Higher Lever 4 PRCA PR Apprenticeship) and currently studying for another (PR & Communications Degree at Greenwich University) I want to share with you my personal suggestions and advice when it comes to the most prominent qualifications and courses to skyrocket your career in PR. And so it begins! Today we enter into lockdown 2.0 in England. Once again many businesses find themselves being forced to shut up shop after only just getting back on their feet. I feel for every business that finds itself in this situation, it’s not how any of us wanted to end the year. And with so much going on, I know it can be hard to find the motivation to push through and find the will to continue. But, as hard as it is, we must have hope. It’s a cliché but it’s true - we got through it before and we’ll get through it again.

Everybody has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in some way and with a second lockdown coming into force, disruption to peoples’ lives and the overall economy looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.
Many businesses are facing difficult decisions about the future of their current work force, with thousands facing unemployment in a saturated jobs market.
Those between the ages of 16 -29 are paying a particularly high price with 55% of young people believing their options for the future have been significantly limited by the crisis. Scheduled gap years and internships have been postponed, jobs are sparse and those in higher education are concerned about their future prospects.

What a year 2020 has been! However, with the easing of lockdown restrictions, children returning to school and the imminent change of season there is a general feeling that we’re all at the start of a new beginning. Uncertainty remains about what the coming months will bring, but there is no doubt that the time has come to rebuild, to ‘keep calm and carry on’.
