For Spring/Summer ‘25, the Norwegian-based brand took feedback and test results from partner mountain guides in Squamish, BC to create the Odin Rock Insulated Shell Jacket (£320), with features to directly support activities in the mountains requiring a harness and helmet, in a lightweight, durable, yet flexible design.
Recognising that mountaineering can mean variable weather conditions, Helly Hansen’s new Odin Rock Insulated Shell Jacket is built from a durable and super lightweight 2-way mechanical stretch fabric, offering DWR treatment for unexpected showers, and a lightweight, breathable mesh-knitted insulation for warmth during chilly days or alpine starts. The 2-way front zipper allows for harness compatibility and ventilation, while the adjustable hood is built to accommodate helmets. Using the brand’s proprietary HELLY TECH® Professional ensures the highest level of waterproofing, promising complete protection from rain and wind while remaining breathable.
Additional features include articulated elbows for increased mobility, a chest pocket to house necessities that won’t interfere when roping up, and underarm ventilation for maximum, personalised comfort.

Evaluated by an international jury of industry professionals and passionate athletes, the award acknowledges the jacket’s innovative design and gives a nod to the collaborative development process alongside mountain professionals.
