Helly Hansen Creates Throwback PU Anoraks and Jackets to Celebrate Norwegian Roots

Anoraks were popular in the late 1800s and the late 1980s. Helly Hansen is reviving the classic pull-over in the new Moss Anorak available in spring 2019. The jacket pays homage to the company’s roots in Moss, Norway, where sea captain Helly Juell Hansen created the first supple waterproof fabrics for his crew in 1877.

The modern Moss Anorak is constructed with Helly Hansen’s proprietary PU technology called Helox. This durable and flexible PU fabric is popular in Helly Hansen’s Workwear collection. In traditional form, the Moss features a well-designed hood and a large main front pocket. A PU Repair Kit is included so the jacket will last forever. The anorak is one of a series of Moss-series products made with Helly Hansen’s traditional PU waterproof fabrics, including a  rain coat, a jacket, rain pants and parka.

The women’s Jeløy Jacket is reminiscent of Helly Hansen’s first women’s fashion styles in the 1900s. The PU raincoat features welded seams, a front placket with retro buckle closure and a PU repair kit.
