Haven Dredging and Stema Systems to host special event to showcase innovative dredging technology

Haven Dredging and Stema Systems will join forces this month to host an exclusive event demonstrating the advanced dredging technologies – Tiamat, RheoTune and Silas2D – at Harwich Haven Authority, on Wednesday 30 October 2024.

Giving the next generation of dredging professionals an exclusive insight into some of the world’s leading alternative dredging technologies, Haven Dredging and Stema Systems will showcase the benefits and innovations for port authorities and maritime professionals, while enabling collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry.

The event invitation has been extended to members of Young CEDA to enhance their understanding of capabilities across the sector.

Jake Storey, Executive Director of Haven Dredging, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, saying, “Both Haven Dredging and Stema Systems are committed to shaping the future of the industry, ensuring a well-equipped workforce ready to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow. Tiamat represents a significant development in dredging technology and by dredging with nature, we’re not only safeguarding our marine environments, but making efficiencies across the board. It is these innovations that will help secure our environments for the future, and we are keen to educate and inspire the next generation.”

Guests will see live demonstrations of Haven Dredging’s innovative hydrodynamic dredging machine, Tiamat, which dredges with nature by redistributing sediment within the water column, allowing the natural tides to take the sediment away. Stema Systems will feature its innovative RheoTune and Silas2D technology to show how it optimises dredging operations through precise measurements of density and yield stress profiles of fluid mud simultaneously, for nautical depth determination in real time. This data is imported into Silas2D, a sub–bottom profiling system to ensure high resolution fluid mud data of the harbours area.

Used together, these tools offer powerful and effective dredging management, enabling operators to make informed decisions about the ongoing management of their sites, whilst minimising the environmental impact of these vital practices.

Leon Hendriksen, Sales and Business Development Manager from Stema Systems, adds, “Rheotune and Silas2D data enables a full and comprehensive reports of fluid mud and its characteristics, which increases productivity further, enabling better understanding and site management. This event provides a unique opportunity to the next generation of maritime professionals, who will working with this technology for years to come – making it a must-attend event.”

This event presents a unique opportunity for professionals in the maritime and dredging sectors to engage with the latest groundbreaking technologies. For further information about the event and to secure your place, please contact Stema Systems at sales@stema-systems-nl.
