The Easter Bunny bounces their way to Ferne Animal Sanctuary for its Spring Fayre

Somerset charity, Ferne Animal Sanctuary, invites people of all ages to its annual Spring Fayre, hosted at the sanctuary near Chard on Sunday 31st March.

Visitors can enjoy an Easter Egg hunt in the beautiful grounds on-site, with the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. Ferne Animal Sanctuary’s animal care experts will be providing exclusive pet talk experiences with the sanctuary’s sounder of pigs and colony of rabbit residents.

There is also a host of children’s activities in the sanctuary’s Creative Corner, as well as fundraising activities in the Visitor Centre, including a tombola for the chance to win prizes – all entries fund the rehoming and rehabilitation of Ferne’s resident animals.

The local community are joining forces with Ferne Animal Sanctuary to offer an array of stalls at this year’s Spring Fayre, with a selection of treats on sale to celebrate the season. The regional businesses confirmed for the Spring Fayre promise to showcase a variety of products – from homemade handcrafts such as floral arrangements, creative gifts and luxury local produce, to animal-centric companies for wildlife photography and wood-turned animal artwork.

Nina’s Café onsite will be open for a quick refreshment or a nice lunch to keep rumbling tummies at bay. The entrance fee to the sanctuary is reduced for this special event to £5 for adults and £1 for children.

Kevan Hodges, Chief Executive Officer at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, says, “Spring is definitely in the air at Ferne, and we look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages to celebrate spring with us and meet the elusive Easter Bunny. As always I want to thank everyone for their support of the charity, both visitors and stall holders at the Fayre. Because of them we can continue to give our animals the help and care that they need.”

The Ferne Virtual Balloon Race

For those that want to support further, Ferne Animal Sanctuary is also announcing its involvement in a virtual balloon race. The Easter Balloon Race, delivered through EcoRacing, launches at 12pm on Sunday 31st of March 2024 and is a simple, fun, and eco-friendly way to support Ferne and all the animals in its care.

Virtual balloons will race across a simulated landscape for 7 days, powered by real-time weather conditions. Each balloon costs £3 and can be customised using a variety of patterns, colours, and text. Participants can also change the thickness and helium levels of the balloon depending on the weather!

The balloons will race against other Ferne balloons as well as other participating charities. EcoRacing offers £100 cash to first place and an Amazon Alexa / Echo Dot 4th Generation to second place.

Balloons can be purchased directly or as gift vouchers for friends and family, a great addition or alternative to Easter eggs. To sign up visit THE FERNE ANIMAL SANCTUARY – fundraising at Ecoracing
