Danish-based marine electronics company, Daniamant, announces its newly developed Forward-Looking Sonar, the EchoPilot FLS 3D, with direct integration to Raymarine Axiom Displays, via RJ45 to Raynet cable.
Allowing customers to integrate forward-looking sonar to their Raymarine Axiom Displays, the new FLS 3D is easily connected to the Raynet via an RJ45 to Raynet cable. This new integration allows FLS 3D users to connect via the HDMI or VGA video output, whilst being able to integrate the system directly into the Raynet and Raymarine Axiom Displays at the same time. Previous versions only offered one connection to a third-party display via HDMI or VGA video output.
Once connected, the EchoPilot app will appear on the Axiom Display allowing users to see forward looking sonar on their display in real-time, both via the app and on the main screen. Offering dual viewing of sea charts and forward-looking sonar at the same time, the display can also be used in split screen for the ultimate in convenience, pairable with Raymarine apps when viewing.
In full-colour three-dimensional display, when the FLS 3D is connected to the Axiom display, users will benefit from full 360-degree rotation of the 3D image via touch, as well as the zoom function, for closer viewing of how the seabed terrain looks ahead and potential hazards are shown in real-time.
The FLS 3D comes with twin transducers to ensure complete forward coverage, comparable to any hull form, and innovative sideview coverage of the seabed – a huge benefit for navigation. Forward looking sonar is a vital tool to navigate poorly, uncharted or unexplored areas or anchorages. Being able to see the forward sea terrain in real time gives the captain an added level of safety while navigating obstacles, and adds an extra level of insurance to the vessel.
Kevin Rough, CEO at Daniamant, says, “The EchoPilot FLS 3D is a revolutionary tool for captains to easily navigate in uncertain or shallow waters without jeopardising the safety of their vessel or crew. We are thrilled that we can offer this new integration with Raymarine displays and look forward to giving end users more flexibility when it comes to choosing the best electronics for their boats.”
