FUSION®, a worldwide leader in marine entertainment, announces it now tests its speakers to the ISO12216 standard. This enables boat builders to confidently and easily specify FUSION Entertainment products in the design phase.
ISO International Standards ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. There has been a recent focus by boat builders on increasing the safety of placing speakers in wet-zones, which could allow for water ingress in the event of an emergency. The ISO12216 International Standard specifies technical requirements for appliances critical to a craft’s water-tightness. This covers any aspect of the boat that could lead to flooding – such as speakers – on craft with a hull length up to 24 meters.
Fusion’s Full Range and Signature Series speakers (pictured) are all ISO compliant, along with upcoming EL series.
Kevin Lott, EMEA Sales Director at FUSION Entertainment, comments, “Our position as the world’s leading marine entertainment company allows us unique access to the changing demands of boat builders, and with the latest ISO standards we have been able to react to specific OEM demands for this. We take safety very seriously at FUSION Entertainment, as a result, we have chosen to invest in advancing the robust compliance testing we already undertake in order to achieve this high, internationally recognised, standard. By testing to ISO12216, boat builders can be confident in specifying FUSION Entertainment speakers at the early design stages.”
